Gas or wood?
There’s no mistaking the look, smell, and radiance from a wood-burning fireplace or stove, but recent advancements in gas fireplaces and gas stoves have made the gas option more attractive. Today’s gas fireplace versions virtually eliminated the telltale blue flame and faux fireplace “logs.” Modern gas versions burn far more realistically, with glowing orange-red embers, and tall orange-yellow flames that flicker and dance around ceramic-fiber logs that are molded so close to the real thing that it’s tough to tell the difference.
In addition to getting far closer to the look of real flame than ever before, gas fireplaces and gas stoves have a few advantages over classic wood:
